Trinity School performed strongly across the board this year at the Croydon Schools Cross Country Championships held on the 8th October at Coombe Lodge. Trinity enjoyed success at both the individual and team levels, with Thabo Witter (9:13) and Coleman Corry (13:46) both placing first in the Junior and Senior races respectively. Witter’s strong individual effort helped Trinity’s Junior A team place 2nd, while the Intermediate A team also finished well with 2nd place. The Senior A team dominated their race with an excellent team performance led by Coleman Corry (1st), with Harry Oakes (3rd), Michael Eagling (4th) and Neal Kesterton (11th) close behind to give them the title of Senior champions.
Trinity Coach Helen Murray said: "It was a great team result across the year groups - I felt very proud of the encouragement and support they gave not only to each other, but also to the boys from the competing schools."
This successful Cross Country outing follows Trinity’s recent success at the ESSA Cross Country Cup, where a mixture of Senior and Intermediate runners won the London round. They now move on to racing in the regional finals on November 14th , where they will compete for a place in the national finals.
